Stephen’s first exposure to the practice of architecture began in high school when he was urged to join a Computer Aided Design class by his counselor. This and other courses fueled an interest in the technical aspects of design.
His passion for the aesthetic side of architecture came from a year spent living abroad in Versailles, France, traveling to see the many monuments throughout Europe. Exposure to many different styles of architecture, from the Notre Dame Cathedral to Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoy, have helped diversify the way he thinks about practice and problem solving.
Stephen spent six years studying to earn his Master of Architecture degree at the Unviersity of Illinois in Urbana Champaign and is currently pursuing licensure. Much of his academic interests lay in the technical side of the field with a large focus on integration of small details into the bigger picture.
As an architectural designer at EWP, Stephen assists in all aspects of the design process with a focus on construction documentation. Outside of work, Stephen enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking.
